Saturday was published in February of 2005. The novel is about a successful neurosurgeon, Henry Perowne, who loves his family and decides to host a dinner for them. However, after a minor traffic accident leads to an unsettling confrontation, Perowne must face his worst fears in order to save those dear to him. McEwan's novel, Saturday, became another successful book for the famous award winning novelist. As a result, it won the James Tait Black Prize for fiction and it was also nominated on the long-list of the Man Booker Prize in 2005.
